The Banke Bihari Temple was established by the great saint Swami Haridas, the guru of Tansen and an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna. It is believed that Lord Krishna manifested before Swami Haridas in the form of Banke Bihari Ji. Since then, the temple has become one of the most sacred centers of Krishna devotion in India.
